Tomb Of the Kings
2km north of the traditional harbour town of Paphos are the Tombs of the Kings, a vast warren of fascinating underground tombs and chambers that date back to the 3rd century BC. Carved out of sold rock, and with heavy Doric style columns, they were used for the burial of High Officials rather than Kings, but its magnificence lives on to this day.
Paphos Mosaics
The famous Paphos mosaics are stunning. Covering three houses, the intricate and colourful mosaics date back to the 3rd century AD when Roman nobles once walked on these beautiful floors. First uncovered in 1962, they are considered the finest mosaics in the Mediterranean and depict elaborate scenes from Greek Mythology.
Paphos Harbour
Boats of all types crowd into the harbour, dominated by Paphos Fort, an Ottoman fortress dating from 1592. You will find this a pretty, clean and bustling harbour with waterfront restaurants and cafes and a handful of shops.
